On women, media and revolution (or, come say hi!)

I’ve been neglectful of the blog of late, pouring my energies into offline work — or just getting distracted by the physical world?  Unsure which, but I’d love for both worlds to converge, if any of you wonderful readers happen to be in San Diego this week.

The Kroc Institute for Peace and Justice, at UC-San Diego, is hosting a three-day conference, free for all who are interested, on “Women, Media, Revolution.”  I’m joining a stellar panel Thursday morning to talk about covering women’s issues in sensitive contexts, and I’d love to meet any of my cyber friends who might be around.

More than that, you should come listen to the powerhouse women from all over the world talk about their incredible work, from Congo and Uganda and Haiti to Nepal and the Balkans and southeast Asia.  The full three day program is here, and includes thoughts from the Women Peacemakers in residence at the Kroc Institute and a keynote by Women for Women International founder Zainab Salbi.

Hope some of you can come, or spread the word!
