Here’s how I guess this will work…

So, my friends, my intention was to begin my blog with a couple of posts a day about the Sierra Leone experience. Then, segue you nicely back into Central Africa.

Here’s the problem: Stuff is still happening in Kigali. Actually–get this–stuff is still happening all over the world, even if I am not writing about it.* I know, it blows my mind too.

What I’m trying to say is that I’m about to expose you to a bit of geographical vertigo. I’ll restrain myself to parts of the world I actually am/was in, but I’m dumping my nice, linear chronology of the Sierra Leone experience… I’m going to jump back and forth, and I hope you don’t mind.

I’m going to get started by back in Kigali, and blogging about the same thing that basically kicked off what my parents keep hoping I might refer to as a journalism “career”: cell phones.

Stay tuned.

*For a great example of Stuff Happening Even Though I Don’t Tell You About It, see this beautifully written article from the NYT a few days ago, about Nepal, full of beautiful writing…
