Worth your bandwidth

I’ve spent a few days catching up on one of my favorite podcasts, “How We Got Here.”  The podcast is the brainchild of Jeb Sharp, a reporter with The World, a BBC-NPR collaboration based in Boston. Sharp has done some phenomenal reporting from Congo and shepherded a great series called “How Wars End.” She’s definitely worth following.

Among the podcasts I’ve been schooling myself in these days is Sharp’s conversations with Severine Autesserre, whose new book on Congo has everyone I respect doing cartwheels of praise; with radio reporter Daniel Estrin about his work on history and memory in Germany; and a remembrance of Richard Holbrooke, which includes a replay of Sharp’s radio piece on the Dayton Accords (and a great interview with Peter Galbraith).

The weekly podcast is free, so you should grab it.  And while you’re at it, grab BBC’s The World, too.  It’s good stuff.
